My Role
Letterbox, is a web app designed to streamline scanning and filing processes for registered agents. I contributed to ShiftUp by re-designing the UX flow and overall user interface for their Letterbox app. This project focused on simplicity and efficiency to cater to small business needs.
My Design Process
For the Letterbox app redesign, I began by thoroughly understanding the users' needs and journeys. The initial design was cluttered and confusing, so I focused on simplifying and reorganizing the flow. I introduced intuitive buttons and replaced overwhelming overlays with clear text fields for better usability. Finally, I added color touches that aligned with ShiftUp's brand identity to ensure a cohesive and professional feel.
Design Challenges
In the old version of the Letterbox homepage, users had to start by selecting a client file before scanning a letter. In my redesigned approach, I restructured the flow to prioritize user convenience by enabling them to first scan the letter and quickly get it processed.
I also reorganized the homepage layout to enhance usability by placing the user account in intuitive locations and adding important shortcuts as accessible buttons on the lower bar. This ensures smoother navigation and quicker access to key features.

After scanning, they can add tags, clients, or recipients and send it on its way, creating a more intuitive and efficient experience.
By incorporating tags and document information—whether automated or manual—the app is designed to streamline filing, filtering, and data analysis in future development stages. This enhances the app’s long-term efficiency and usability for its users.
